The Mekarev Shul is a very warm, inspiring and inviting American Chassidic style Shul located in the Old City of Tzfas. Every Shabbos on Friday night, hundreds of guests from all over the world join us for an amazing Carlebach Kabbolas Shabbos and dancing. On Shabbos morning we have a beautiful Chassidic davening followed by a Kiddush. A spacious women’s section is located upstairs. Many American Yeshivas and Seminaries join us every Shabbos. The Shul is under the leadership of Rabbi Raphael Weingot and Rabbi Avshi Weingot.
Mekarev (or Makarov) comes from the Chernobyl Chassidic dynasty and the original structure of the Shul was built in 1865 by Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok of Mekarev who was a grandson of Rav Mordechai of Chernobyl. The old Chernobyl Kloyz is actually down the street from the Mekarev Shul. The Shul today is home to many different types of Chassidim, soul searchers and Yeshiva Shalom Rav.
Davening times on Shabbos: Erev Shabbos Mincha 15 minutes before Sundown/Shkiya followed by Carlebach Kabbolas Shabbos.
Shabbos Morning at 8:30 am
Shabbos Mincha: 45 minutes before Shkiya/Sundown.

Donate to the Shul
The Mekarev Shul receives hundreds of visitors every week and the shul is in need of general repairs and renovations – not to mention the costs of keeping the shul running (electricity, heat/ac, water and Kiddush expenses.) Every donation is very much appreciated. You can use this Quickpay email to donate – yeshivashalomrav@gmail.com
Checks can also be sent to our American or Israeli offices and should be made out to Yeshiva Shalom Rav. These checks will be used for the needs of the Shul unless otherwise specified.
